Shalom Kaa

Shalom Kaa is a Darwin-based performer, director, singer, and comedian with roots in a large Māori musical family. He grew up as part of a large Maori family of musicians who performed throughout New Zealand. A dynamic and versatile artist, Shalom has graced stages across New Zealand, Sydney, and Melbourne, and since relocating to Darwin in 2015, has become a celebrated figure in the NT arts scene. 

From lead roles in Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, and The Crucible, to directing sell-out productions like Beatles Cabaret and ABBA Cabaret, Shalom brings passion and storytelling to every performance. His award-winning solo cabaret Purple Plastic Māori debuted at Darwin Fringe and wowed audiences with its wit and heart. 

A regular soloist with Darwin Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the True Colours Chorus, Shalom is also a charismatic MC and rising comedy talent. Whether singing, directing, or making people laugh, he’s a powerhouse performer with heart, humour and serious chops.
